My Teaching philosophy
As a self-taught classical guitarist, I deeply understand the unique challenges and rewards that come with learning on your own. My carefully personalized lessons are specifically designed to cater to your individual needs and learning styles, helping you overcome various obstacles while achieving your musical goals with both flexibility and unwavering support. I invite you to join me on this journey to discover a truly tailored learning experience that empowers you to master the classical guitar at your own pace and in a way that resonates with you personally.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes three essential learning areas: Tactile, Visual, and Theoretical. Tactile learning focuses on developing technique and providing your fingers and hand muscles with the necessary flexibility to execute what the music demands of you as a performer and player. Visual learning aids in recognizing patterns and trains your brain for quick and effortless recall of notes and rhythms. This essential skill set includes acquiring fretboard knowledge, reading music effectively, and honing improvisational skills. Additionally, Theoretical learning delves into comprehending how music works fundamentally, and how to interpret various musical ideas, which in turn helps enhance your performance, memorization, ear training, and even the ability to write your own compelling compositions.
I have developed tools of my own around many of those areas and I can share this knowledge with you in a clear and practical way. No more watching YouTube videos and complicated theory and technique books promising transformation overnight. An experienced teacher and coach can guide students much better using a structured well rounded instruction curriculum.
